Penumbral Post - November

Hear ye, hear ye Citizens of the Palace. A news update is brought forth from the darkest corners of the world to your front door. As always, we encourage our readers to steer clear of high-conflict zones. Our spies risk their lives so you don’t have to, and this is their report:

Auryx'nam

The enemy of our Lord of Vengeance, may he reign eternal, Boora stole away our heroes from their place in Auryx'nam to embolden her own plans. The heroes returned from their journey maddened from their experiences, but a trusted spy confirms that one of these individuals' minds have been opened through the experience. Our heroes forging through the tower discovered upon their return that the tower was actually a large prison holding within it thousands of souls placed inside the cairn long long ago. The first of which they saw walk free from the magical breach was an organic nightmare of a creature, partially gigantic ant and partially elven. The creature has demanded our heroes work to free the rest of their brood from the prison so that they might ascend once again...whatever that means...As the magic holding the cairn together breaks down and dissipates into nothingness, our heroes will have to decide what to do with the monumental location.

Losamyn

Our emissary managed to reach the Infinity Ape before any other gods or threats could do so. We were unsuccessful in recruiting the ape to our cause, however, as his heart was too full of his friends and his quest to add another. Though we part ways on uncertain terms, our emissary assures our nation that Losamyn will be in good hands even if they aren't our own. Our thoughts follow this Ape in their quest, and we watched in horror as they summoned not one or two of the Infinities to their cause, but all 8 with the inclusion of Ruin. As the Golem of Non-Existence began to render all sentient creatures inert around him, we are unashamed to admit that our agents have all fled this developing story. None can hope to survive the golem's touch and so we have little hope in the group's survival. Not even the twin gods of luck and misfortune can hope to help the Ape survive against the golem...they will all surely be destroyed together.

The Penumbra Eternal is besieged on all sides by Mechan armies from Hierus. They flow through into our world like waterfalls from the heavens, but who is summoning them all? We must know! All these thousands of years our empire has upheld our end of the bargain to keep the mortal realm clean of the infinity's involvement and the thanks we get for all our hard work is to watch as our temples and shrines are destroyed before our eyes. Are we meant to stand idly by and do nothing as our gods rally to defend our cities and people from the otherworldly menace? The world has abandoned us. We fight alone against an insidious enemy.
