Penumbral Post - September

Hear ye, hear ye Citizens of the Palace. A news update is brought forth from the darkest corners of the world to your front door. As always, we encourage our readers to steer clear of high-conflict zones. Our spies risk their lives so you don’t have to, and this is their report:

Auryx'nam

At the tower deep within the wilds our heroes ascended beyond the scores of dead. At the next level, they found magma golems guarding the pathway to the top. Their mighty axes were imbued with Sard's divine magic, easily cleaving through any of our heroes unlucky enough to be caught within their fiery gaze. When the embers cooled, the god of knowledge, Diogenes, appeared to guide the heroes on their desperate task. Before they can climb higher towards the top, they'll have to contend with the god's machinations.

Losamyn

Deep within the brain-plane, the Infinity Ape and company buried the roots of their treeighborhood into the mind of Masha. In doing so, both their demiplanes combined and a battle of willpower began. Whereas the Ape had just the one demiplane, Masha had five at their disposal. The crushing weight of Masha's will seemed too great to bear, until we arrived. The armies of vengeance handily defeated that horrid scum. In the wake of our total victory, the Infinity Ape channeled the will of the thousands repressed inside the demiplanes to repel all other souls. With the leaderless realms collapsing in on themselves, only our lord and savior Teyrmacht, may he reign eternal, could possibly know what will happen next. Could it be that we're witnessing the birth of a new god?

Umbrage Isles

The battle against the undead besieging Watchfire Hold continues to batter down the heroes struggling to keep them from ruling the mountain fortress once more. Already half our heroes have died in the quest to quell the undead. In doing so, they have joined the ranks of their enemies. Just as all seemed darkest in the night, the undead leader was blown away from the battle. Our heroes must sustain until the commander returns, but they're running out of options.

While those options may be running out, another group has infinite options presented before them within an old Gorgot Monestary. Within the monestary-turned-military camp three contentious factions briefly came to blows with one another over the right to govern before our heroes managed to convince everyone to stand down. The plague that once kept people stuck within the halls of the fortifications is no closer to being resolved, and yet the heroes have a blank check to go where they must to find the cure. Little do they know, one of their members has already perished in the prison level beneath their feet, the soul claimed by a spirit princess with ideas of her own...
